XE88 needs one switch flipped on each phone, and one flipped back
The old XE88 FAQ put it in two lines: turn on Unknown Source, or trust the developer. Here's what each of those switches does, and how to put it back.
XE88 needs two switches flipped: one on Android, one on iPhone. That's how the old FAQ put it, in almost as few words: turn on your Unknown Source selection, or get into device development and trust it. The rest of the November 2019 page was two buttons, a twelve-step iPhone guide and the usual chat contacts. The buttons pointed at a cloud storage bucket that no longer exists. Here are the two switches, explained, and the reason to flip one of them back.

The Android switch
XE88 isn't in Google Play, because the store only accepts real-money gambling from operators licensed in the country, and online gambling is illegal in Malaysia. Android therefore refuses the file until you allow its source.
On Android 8 and newer, the switch is per app: Settings > Apps > Special app access > Install unknown apps, then the browser or file manager that holds the file. Turn it on, install XE88, and turn it off again. Left on, any page you open in that browser can push an install prompt at you. On Android 7 and older there's one Unknown sources switch under Settings > Security, and switching it back off matters even more.
Take the APK only from the agent who issued your ID and compare the size and version they give you. Keep Google Play Protect on. If XE88 asks for accessibility access or SMS, it isn't the real file.
The iPhone switch
Open the new icon and iOS says Untrusted Enterprise Developer. Cancel, then go to Settings > General > VPN & Device Management and tap Trust on the company under Enterprise App. That lets apps signed with that company's certificate run. It doesn't let anyone manage or read your phone, which is why you should refuse anything labelled as a profile. Apple revokes such certificates, so XE88 on iPhone can stop opening overnight.
On a PC
There was no Windows client. The FAQ suggested Nox Player, an Android emulator, where the Android switch applies all over again inside the emulator.

Questions people ask
Is Unknown sources the same as Install unknown apps?
Nearly. Android 7 and older had one Unknown sources switch for the whole phone. From Android 8 it became Install unknown apps, granted to one app at a time, which is safer.
Can I undo the iPhone trust for XE88?
Yes. Delete XE88 and any other apps from the same developer, and the trust entry disappears from VPN & Device Management.
What is the Daily Bonus button in the XE88 lobby?
Our screenshot shows it with a 0/5 counter, which looks like a set of daily tasks. We can't say what it pays, and it doesn't change how the games themselves work.
