Gangster AXE: stepped reels and a 100-line betting menu
Five reels shaped like a staircase, 100 lines, and a betting menu with seven denominations. What our Gangster AXE screenshots show.
The reels climb like a staircase. Reel one has three rows, reel two four, and so on up to seven rows on reel five, all set against an old tenement courtyard with washing hung from the balconies. That shape is how Gangster AXE fits 100 lines on a phone screen.
Setting the bet
The betting menu is the clearest screen we have. LINES starts at 100 with plus and minus buttons. DENOMINATION offers 0.01, 0.02, 0.05, 0.10, 0.25, 0.50 and 1.00, and BET goes from 1 to 5. With 100 lines, bet 1 and a 0.02 denomination, the bar at the bottom reads TOTAL BET MPV 2.00. A column on the right sets autoplay to 5, 10, 25, 50 or 100 spins, or leaves it running.
On the reels
The symbols are a cast of cartoon gangsters and neighbours: a man in a fedora, a heavy-set man with a gold chain, a bald man in round glasses and a woman in hair curlers. Smaller symbols are props such as a smoking pipe, a lollipop, a dagger, a butterfly and a red book, plus card letters. The wild is a scruffy character holding bundles of cash. The look borrows heavily from a famous Hong Kong kung fu comedy, so we have kept those screens off the page. In one of them a WILD on reel three helped two lines pay, for a spin total of MPV 0.40.

Why don't you show the reels?
The characters are caricatures of figures from a well-known Hong Kong film comedy, so we left those screens out. Our other screenshots were bet-history tables with an account number on them.
